You can improve your referral agent skills by: Helping employees formulate development plans and consulting on strategies Providing opportunities for experience, exposure, and visibility, such as committees and task forces) Using personal resources who you know and what you know to create opportunities Assisting in seeking employees' placement lateral or vertical Management Development. The management and leadership development process is flexible and continuous, linking an individual's development to the goals of the job and the organization. Management development programs on campus give you the opportunity to develop a broad base of skills and knowledge that can be applied to many jobs on campus. D& T's management development curriculum is changing. The overarching goal is a comprehensive curriculum for managers and supervisors to develop the necessary core competencies to become excellent leaders. The Employee Relations Unit also provides training for managers and supervisors, along with performance management tools. Expanding management core competencies will enable campus managers to keep pace with the demands of a changing organization. Enroll in the Supervisory Certificate Program courses to learn more about supervisory core competencies and roles at the D& T Course Enrollment Catalog. Guiding Principles. Online Engineering Degrees - Accredited Programs & Schools. Overview of Available Online Engineering Degrees. Undergraduate certificates and associate degrees in engineering are concentrated in engineering technology areas, which focuses on the testing and design of engineering components and prepares graduates to become engineering technicians. For example, an associate degree in electronics engineering technology would prepare grads to read and draw blueprints of electronics components, test these components, and install them. Online bachelor’s degrees in engineering are usually designed to be both theoretical and applied. For example, students in a mechanical engineering bachelor’s degree would study mechanics, statics, and dynamics, but they would also make simple mechanical components in engineering labs. Engineering bachelor’s degrees usually require coursework in the liberal arts, natural sciences, engineering fundamentals, and the specialized engineering area the student is studying. The Department of Fire Protection Engineering. The Graduate Program in Fire Protection Engineering. Graduates of our programs apply their skills in fire protection design. Fire protection engineering degree. Read about careers and find fire protection engineering schools and programs. Department of Fire Safety - College of engineering - Undergraduate Programs - ACADEMICS - KYUNGIL UNIVERSITY. An online master’s degree or graduate certificate in engineering is usually aimed at current engineering professionals who want to advance their knowledge and skills. These programs may be coursework- only and focused on leadership and management skills; other programs require a thesis. Doctoral degrees in engineering are usually designed for engineers who want to prepare for a future in research and teaching in a postsecondary setting. These programs take many years to complete and require that students design and implement a research project in their engineering discipline. Online Associate Degrees in Engineering. An associate degree is typically the minimum educational requirement to begin entry- level work as a technician in an engineering field. Online associate programs can provide students with a background in the technological and mathematical concepts that engineers use to devise new systems and products. Most programs require individuals to commit to two years of full- time study and complete 6. High school graduates or GED certificate holders with a strong background in science and mathematics are eligible to apply to associate programs in engineering. The majority of associate engineering programs teach students the introductory theories and practices in their chosen fields. Students may choose to study aerospace, civil, electrical and electronics, environmental, or mechanical engineering technology. Curriculum material varies by area of concentration, but most programs feature basic classes in computer concepts, physics, chemistry, calculus, and other advanced forms of mathematics. Students in these programs often have the privilege of combining classwork with hands- on instruction at local sites or laboratory settings. Upon graduation, engineering technicians usually work under the direct supervision of more experienced workers and provide assistance as needed. Those who want to advance into roles as full- fledged engineers must complete a bachelor's degree. Many also decide to become certified by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies to increase their career options. Online Bachelor's Degrees in Engineering. The bachelor’s degree in engineering prepares graduates to apply natural science and engineering principles to physical systems. It is also the minimum academic requirement for most engineering careers. These degrees come in a variety of areas, such as chemical, mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering. Students complete 1. Students applying to undergraduate programs in engineering will need a high school diploma, as well as SAT/ACT scores and letters of recommendation. Some online engineering degree- completion programs require previous undergraduate classes in areas like chemistry, physics, and calculus. The curriculum in the engineering bachelor’s degree is divided into courses in general education, natural science, engineering fundamentals, and the engineering specialization area. For example, chemical engineering students would take foundational science courses in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and physical chemistry, while electrical engineering students would study math, computer science, and physics. Engineering fundamentals topics discuss statics, dynamics, and similar principles that are applicable to several engineering specialties. In a distance learning bachelor's program, students complete foundational and engineering classes online but may be required to visit campus for hands- on labs. For example, an online civil engineering degree might require online geology, chemistry, and technical drawing classes. Students would come to campus in the summer to finish labs in materials engineering, soils, circuit analysis, and manufacturing processes. A bachelor’s degree in engineering is usually sufficient to land entry- level positions in the candidate’s engineering specialty area. New graduates will be competing with master’s degree- level applicants, and job growth can vary greatly by the career focus. Graduates who hope to one day offer their services directly to the public will need to earn the Professional Engineer (PE) license, which requires several years of professional experience and a passing score on the PE exam. Online Master's Degrees in Engineering. The master’s degree program in engineering builds on undergraduate training and offers the opportunity to study engineering management and research skills. Engineering master’s degree programs are available with both practical and theoretical focuses. These degrees typically take one to two years to complete and require 1. Admission requirements typically include an ABET- accredited undergraduate degree with a high GPA, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement; some require GRE scores. Classes in the engineering master’s degree program reflect the student’s specialization area. Engineering management programs, which have grown in popularity in recent years, focus on topics like managing teams, fostering innovation, and supply chain management. Other degrees are less management focused and instead allow current engineers to specialize in a particular area of inquiry within their field. For example, chemical engineers could use the master’s degree program to study biomechanical engineering, nanoparticles, or the development of artificial organ systems. Depending on the type of master’s degree, students may also be expected to complete an internship or research- based thesis. Management- and professionally focused programs may only consist of coursework, or they may require students to shadow an experienced manager in the field. Other master’s degrees require that students complete a research project in their chosen specialty area with the help of the faculty advisor. The master’s degree in engineering can be used by current engineers to take on more job responsibilities or move into leadership positions. Because the entry- level requirement in most engineering areas is a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree- level engineers are likely to have better job opportunities. The master’s degree can also be used to shift focuses within a particular engineering specialization or to cement one’s knowledge in an area of study. Online Doctorate Degrees in Engineering. The Ph. D, or doctoral degree, in engineering provides current engineers with the opportunity to make advances in engineering research. Applicants need an ABET- accredited bachelor's or master's degree in engineering. Prospective students are usually required to provide official college transcripts, GRE test scores, a resume, and letters of recommendation. The required 4. 8 hours of coursework and the dissertation credit can be completed in three to five years. Students enrolled in the engineering Ph. D specialize in a particular engineering discipline and subtopic; for example, a mechanical engineering student might focus on internal combustion engines. The required courses vary depending on the student's focus, but common topics include human factors engineering, applied ergonomic methods, cognitive engineering, automation, production control systems, materials handling, engineering administration, logistics engineering, and process improvement. Other typical topics include engineering statistics, industrial quality control, reliability engineering, and informational systems for industrial engineering. All students are required to complete a dissertation in order to graduate. The dissertation topic is chosen under the direction of a faculty member. Students conduct research, write the dissertation, and orally defend their work in front of a committee of several faculty members. Graduates from a doctoral degree program in engineering are qualified to instruct engineering at the college level; others become teacher- researchers in research- intensive universities. Other engineers use the Ph. D to work in government agencies in a policy capacity or to begin their own consulting firm. Online Certificates in Engineering. Engineering certificates can be earned at the undergraduate and graduate level. These 4- to 1. 2- course programs provide a focused study of a particular engineering area and can be completed in one year. Applicants need a high school diploma or bachelor's degree, depending on the certificate level. Current engineers can use the certificate to add management or research skills to their professional toolkit. Other engineers use the certificate to gain skills in an area related to their current profession. For example, a civil engineer could pursue a certificate in environmental engineering to learn more about sustainable building processes. The topics covered in an engineering certificate program will depend on the concentration. Undergraduate certificates may explore aviation mechanics, computer engineering, electronics engineering, or another area. These programs generally require hands- on study and teach students how to build and troubleshoot particular types of components.
Sims 3 Community Blog: Witches! By now you’ve gotten the scoop on werewolves from Sim. Guru. Jon, frolicked with fairies and Sim. Guru. Argus, and explored lunacy with Sim. Sims 3 Witch, How to make her learn faster. Sims can also change upgrades with the. Static needs affects witch's power? Sims 3 Mods for the Discerning Player. In sims 2 I think it's more fun to actually have. I prefer the Sims 3 witches because I can make them a witch in. Guru. Megan. Today I’m here to tell you about the ! From the day we started brainstorming ideas for this expansion pack, I was completely in love with witches and all the possibilities they could introduce to The Sims. To me, playing as a witch offers the ultimate power of choice, “A am I good, evil, or just indifferent? Do I use my spells just to help my family and friends, or do I let my magic run crazy and turn everyone in town to toads?” Mwahahahaha, just talking about it makes me want to rub my hands together in evil glee. First and foremost are the traits. Witches with the good trait will get more wishes to cast spells that are considered . However, being good or evil doesn’t mean you only have access to a certain type of spell. After all, even the friendliest of witches may need to throw a curse every now and then! Just like the other supernaturals, you can create witches in CAS. Male, female, green skin or golden, you’ll be able to customize your witch to fit the story you want to tell. Witches come in all ages, and some innate witch abilities can even be present in childhood. Hint, keep an eye on your little witch’s toy box as they’re playing, or they just may magically multiply! However, the teenage years are when a witch’s powers really manifest. This is the time when they receive a wand to play with magic. Wand, wand, it’s all about the wand! Witches need a magical wand in their inventory to channel their special powers. Every witch is given a basic wand, but if your Sim loses it or wants to upgrade it, there are several options available in Buy Mode to purchase. There are numerous wands to choose from and while each one has a distinctive cool look, they more importantly have unique affects to the way your witch will cast spells. If you’re looking for your witch to have a high success rate at casting spells, I’d recommend giving the ivory wand a try. But if you’re asking, “Sim. Guru. Britt, I don’t want my witch to rely on a wand! I want them to be able to cast spells without that pointy thing in the way!” Don’t worry, we have you covered. The Lifetime Happiness reward Magic Hands enables your witch to cast spells only using their hands, plus their spells will never fail! Enough about wands, let’s get into the actual spell casting! Witches will become increasingly proficient and learn more magic spells and abilities as they play with magic and cast spells. For instance, witches can learn how to use their wands to upgrade objects around the house – no more wrenches required! Quick tip, my advice would be to magically upgrade your wardrobe for a special surprise. You will get a message when your witch has learned new spells and abilities with hints for how to use them. Magic spells generally fit into one of three categories (with a few exceptions): Charms, curses and rituals. Charms are considered beneficial or . Curses are harmful or . Rituals are spells that can be cast on objects or lots. They have a wide array of effects from converting collectibles to cleaning the house. I don’t want to give everything away. If you have a surplus of gems laying around, simply flick your witches wand and transform them into something useful for your alchemist. Ice Blast is one of those spells that doesn’t really fall under the category of charm or curse (since it is more of an elemental spell), but is super fun to use. Want to break your neighbor’s plumbing? Want to give a Sim a severe case of chattering teeth and cold toes? As a bonus, this spell has a chance of encasing a Sim in a solid block of ice, freezing them for a short time. Sometimes spells can be fun, sometimes they can be useful, and sometimes they can be dark and dangerous. The haunting curse is definitely one of those dark and dangerous spells since your witch can summon a spirit from the netherworld to haunt a victim for days. Once cursed, the only way out for the victim is to wait for time to pass or to become friends with their ghostly tormentor. Be warned, cast this curse with caution! All spells can fail (sometimes with disastrous results for the caster), and the haunting curse does this in the most extreme way. If it fails, it could mean death for the witch that cast it! I’ll leave you with just one more, the reanimation ritual. Cast this spell on any tombstone with a ghost and watch the dead rise as a gruesome zombie! Better have an exit strategy planned after casting this spell though as zombies make friends in interesting ways. Witches have to keep an eye on their magic meter as they use their spells and abilities. The lower the magic meter falls, the higher the possibility that a spell will fail. Once the magic meter is depleted, spells will fizzle and fail until the meter has been replenished. Magic power will slowly regenerate over time, or can be instantly replenished with an Essence of Magic elixir. Another, more leisurely way to regenerate magic power is to take a few loops around the magic broom arena on your broom. Brooms! Since the magic is in the broom, not in the user, even ordinary Sims can get a taste of magic by flying around town on one of these flying objects. Brooms come in several models. There’s even one with training wheels for the kiddies! For those daring Sims who think merely traveling around town by broom isn’t enough, the broom arena is a place to fly high and show- off your witches stunts. Can’t afford to buy one of these arenas for your house? The citizens of Moonlight Falls have recognized every Sim’s right to practice broom stunts, and built their very own broom arena park for any Sim to use. Any Sim can buy and use a broom, but witches will use brooms automatically when traveling solo, just like a taxi. Mod The Sims - Apartment life or Supernatural/. The sims 2 Apartment life's equivalent is the sims 3 Supernatural. I want to tee who prefers Apartment life over Supernatural. Here's why I do: First, in the Apartment life when you're a witch it's way more fun. You can start fires, wipe peoples memories, make visitors vanish, summon a sim, make sims sick, heal sims, summon cats, put out fires and so much more. But in Supernatural as a witch you can only cast good luck charms, (seriously what does that even do?), Cast Ice blast, really, you just make a sim cold. Cast fire blast to singe a sim, lower/higher needs, bring zombies back from the dead, and cast a love charm. Nothing cool like wiping memories, or summoning sims. Secondly, to cast spells in sims 2, all you have to do is use motherlode, and buy a lot of reagents from the grand high good/bad witch. In sims 3 you have a meter, and when it empties you have to wait. In sims 2 I think it's more fun to actually have good witches, neutral, and bad where as in the sims 3, you have to pretend they are good/evil. Also in sims 3 I know you can make elixirs with alchemy, that's great but in the sims 2 you can actually have a cauldron, and spell book and create cool items like the throne of light, and palm of darkness wall lamp. So who here also prefers Apartment life over Supernatural? Actually in general I like the sims 2 way more than Sims 3: Way more cheats. In sims 2 for skills and relationships you can just use the EA created sim modder but in Sims 3 you have to go to places like nraas and find mods. For how demanding the games are: To me on a scale of 1 being very low demanding not needing much to 1. Very high demanding , needing fancy graphics cards I'd say the sims 2 falls under a 4, and the Sims 3 would be a 7. The Myth Of American Decline . Have a burning question about the smoke coming out of your PC? Send your problems to letters@pcgamer. Look, See? I am impressed—really!—by the knowledge the Windows key does all that. However, due to my empirical knowledge of how aggravating the Windows key is to my PC Gaming I will continue to remove the Windows key from my keyboards. That was a response to my post from last week, in which I offered a few of my favorite Windows shortcuts and tricks. While the Windows key can be useful for the highly efficient PC gamer, Klimek points out that it can also be the cruelest key of them all. Accidentally dumping yourself to the desktop in the middle of a competitive game is worse than accidentally hitting Insert and typing over a sentence. Thankfully, there are ways to disable it. As commenters pointed out, some keyboards (like the one pictured) include a button to disable the key. On my Thermaltake keyboard, the left Windows key is replaced with an Fn key, so I don't worry about it. If you're out of luck with your keyboard, though, you can still disable the key in Windows 7 with a bit of registry editing. Here, directly from Microsoft support, is how to do it: Click Start, click Run, type regedt. OK. On the Windows menu, click HKEY. Or you can try a different method, with a program that's handy to have anyway, and keep the shortcuts. Download the program (it's free and open source) and run it, then right click on its icon in the taskbar. Select 'Edit This Script' and it'll open the default script in Notepad. Somewhere between the comments (which are marked with semi- colons) add the following: ~LWin Up: : return~RWin Up: : return. Now just save the file, right click on Auto. Hotkey again, and select 'Reload This Script.' Both Windows keys should now do nothing when pressed on their own, but shortcuts will still work. Now you'll never end up looking at the desktop when you meant to crouch. Whew. Note: Some online games may detect Auto. Hotkey as a potential cheating application, though I always have it running and have never had a problem. Obviously, if you're creating scripts to automate in- game actions, the game's moderators may not approve. Window key lock/disable/toggle > Solved Window key lock/disable/toggle.
